You found the perfect gas range on sale, and now you’re wondering: how big a deal is it to switch from electric? Honest answer: it depends on one thing — whether there’s already a gas line in your kitchen.
If there’s a line behind the stove: you’re in great shape. We swap the connector, install a proper shut-off valve, level the range, mount the anti-tip bracket, and leak-test everything. Most of these installs take under two hours.
If there’s no line yet: we run one. A typical kitchen extension from an existing line is a few hours of work, pressure-tested to code before the stove ever gets connected. You’ll also want an electrician to confirm you have the 120V outlet gas ranges use for ignition — a much smaller job than the 240V circuit your electric stove needed.
What about the electric circuit left behind? It gets capped safely — and it’s a great candidate for a future EV charger, since the heavy wiring is already there.
Thinking about making the switch? Book a gas line estimate and we’ll tell you exactly what your kitchen needs — no surprises on install day.
